E-CIGARETTES

E-cigarettes, also referred to as electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), and colloquially called e-cigs, Juuls and vapes, are battery-powered devices that provide doses of nicotine and other additives to the user in an aerosol. In addition to e-cigarettes, ENDS products include personal vaporizers, vape pens, e-cigars, e-hookah and vaping devices. According to the CDC, e-cigarettes are not safe for youth, young adults, pregnant people or adults who do not currently use tobacco products.

  • Nicotine is toxic to developing fetuses.
  • Nicotine can harm adolescent brain development, which continues into the early to mid-20s.
  • Nicotine is a health danger for pregnant women and their developing babies.
